Frequently asked questions
What does a toastmaster do on the day?
I provide a calm, visible point of contact for your guests, venue and suppliers. That can include welcoming guests, guiding people to the right place, making announcements, introducing speakers and helping transitions feel smooth. The aim is to give the room enough clarity to relax, never to take over your celebration.
What types of events can you host?
I support weddings, ceremonies, receptions, engagements, private celebrations, awards evenings, corporate dinners and other occasions where a composed host helps people feel included. We will talk through the tone and practical needs of your event so the service feels right for you.
How far in advance should I book?
Popular dates can be booked well ahead, so it is helpful to enquire as soon as you have a date and venue in mind. If your plans are nearer, please still get in touch. Availability can change, and I will always let you know what is possible.
Do you work across the UK?
Yes. I am UK based and work nationwide. International celebrations can also be discussed. Any travel requirements are made clear around your plan before you confirm a booking.
Can you support Hindu, Sikh, Muslim and interfaith celebrations?
Yes. Your traditions, family expectations and preferred way of celebrating should lead the plan. I take time to understand the key customs, names, timings and moments that matter to you, then host them with warmth and respect.
Will you work with my venue, planner and suppliers?
Absolutely. Clear communication with your venue, planner, caterers, DJ, AV team and photographer is a key part of making the day feel effortless. I work alongside each team, keeping the running order connected without stepping into anyone else’s role.
Do you help create the running order?
Yes. Before the day, we can work through your timings, key people, entrances, speeches, meals and any special moments. The result is a practical plan that gives everyone a clear sense of what happens next while leaving room for the natural moments you do not want to rush.
Can you make announcements and introduce speeches?
Yes. I can welcome the room, introduce speakers, guide guests between the key parts of the day and make announcements in a confident, considered way. We will agree the tone and wording in advance, including any names, titles or sensitive details that need care.
What happens if timings change on the day?
Real events rarely follow a schedule to the minute. If photographs run long, guests arrive late or a speech needs more time, I adapt calmly with your venue and suppliers. You do not need to carry every change yourself, and your guests continue to feel informed.
Are you a replacement for a wedding planner or venue coordinator?
No. A planner, venue coordinator and toastmaster each bring different support. I focus on the guest-facing flow, announcements and room coordination, working with the wider team so you benefit from each person’s expertise.
Can you help with speeches and formalities?
Yes. I can help make the speech sequence feel comfortable for speakers and clear for guests, from introductions to gentle timekeeping where appropriate. You remain in control of the tone and traditions you want to include.
Can you act as both toastmaster and MC?
Yes. Many celebrations benefit from one familiar, confident person who can guide the formal moments and keep the room connected throughout. We can agree the balance between traditional toastmaster duties and a more conversational MC style so it feels natural for your guests.
What information do you need before the event?
A helpful brief includes your venue, timings, suppliers, key people, speakers, family preferences and anything that needs particular sensitivity. You do not need every detail at the first conversation. I will guide you through what will help us prepare well.
Can you support accessibility needs?
Yes. Please share any access requirements, communication preferences or practical arrangements that will help guests feel comfortable. Including these details in the plan early gives the whole team the best opportunity to support everyone thoughtfully.
How do I check availability and receive a quote?
Use the contact form, call or email with your date, venue, location and the kind of occasion you are planning. I will come back to you about availability and the next steps, then provide a clear quote based on the support your day needs.
What if my question is not listed here?
Please ask. No two celebrations are the same, and an early conversation is the easiest way to find out whether I am the right fit for your plans.
Still deciding what support you need?
A quick conversation can bring clarity to your timings, traditions and guest experience.
